Do I need a fishing license?

Yes. Every angler 12 and older needs a valid Oregon fishing license plus the appropriate combined angling tag or Columbia River Basin Endorsement for salmon and steelhead. We can point you to the ODFW online store — most clients purchase a one-day or annual license the night before the trip.

What gear do I need to bring?

We provide rods, reels, tackle, bait, and terminal gear. Bring your license, layered clothing, a rain jacket, sun protection, food, drinks, and a cooler for your catch.

Do you clean and package the fish?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Every trip includes basic fillet and bagging. We can also recommend a local smokehouse or canning shop if you want your catch preserved.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Safety comes first. If the captain calls the trip due to weather, bar conditions, or river blowout, you get a full refund or free reschedule. Rain doesn't cancel — Oregon fish love it.

What is your cancellation policy?

No deposit required to book — just confirm your date and show up ready to fish. If you need to cancel, give us as much notice as possible so we can offer the date to someone else.

Are kids welcome?

Yes — we love family trips. Bottom fishing and calm-water salmon trips are ideal for kids 6 and up. Every child wears a USCG-approved life vest that we provide.

Do I need experience?

Not at all. Roughly a third of our clients are first-time anglers. Judd is a patient teacher and will walk you through every rig, cast, and fight.

What should I wear?

Layers. A base layer, warm mid-layer, and a waterproof outer shell will keep you comfortable in every Oregon season. Non-slip closed-toe shoes are required on the boat.
